Going to the G & O is a wonderful experience, staff are wonderful, helpful and very attentive but not over the top. We had soup to start, it was absolutely delicious, mains didn't match up to it I'm afraid. My burger was rather dry, my daughter's steak had grizzle really running right through it. Thankfully we had a 30% off voucher. Next time would just go for coffee
Used to be a lovely busy restraunt with a great atmosphere, but now it's a shadow of its former self. Visiting Swansea for my father's birthday we thought we would enjoy a lunch at the Grape and Olive, which we used to visit frequently. Empty on a Saturday lunch time, we were offered any seat we liked, so long as it was one of three cramped booths between a wall and the lift machinery on the land facing side of the building. The red haired waitress seemed too resent our presence, and responded only with a sneer when we decided that we'd rather go somewhere with some life in it. The menu looked passable, but a bit on the pretentious side and not inspiring enough to convince us to say. G&O, please try and better your customer service so I can enjoy dining with you again.
Absolutely lovely place to go for a meal or a quick drink. This is the number 1 place I bring people when they visit Swansea. There are amazing views of Swansea and the surrounding area. The restaurant is split into two parts; a downstairs for food and and upstairs for coffee and hot drinks. I really would recommend coming here.
Gavin served us here. He was polite and very efficient. Someone made a major mistake whilst booking us in but Gavin made sure that we got a nice seat overlooking the sea for the right number of people. He left us very happy!! Food was excellent too!! Will definitely be back for more!
We were recommended to try this restaurant while we were in Swansea and it didn't disappoint. It would have been better to visit during daylight to take full advantage of the views. The night view of Swansea was still very good. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was good but the temperature in the restaurant was a bit cool for us so we didn't hang around after our meal.
