Always a pleasure. Beer is perfectly served as is the gin. But the old Morgans was better. Since the refurb it is far too bright and modern. Ditch the led colour changers and white walls and let's get back to the wood panelling and halogen lighting.
A generous afternoon tea. Liked being upstairs with natural roof light. Rather than the room next to bar.
Fabulous meal but the new dining chairs are a disaster. I'm a size 10/12 and I could hardly fit in the seat. Bring back the old dining chairs. I understand from the members of staff that I spoke to that I"m not the first complaint. Whoever is responsible please reconsider.
Sunday night, hotel half price at 62. Great location at the bottom of wind Street. Lovely room with full breakfast included.
I have stayed at the Morgans several times, and it never disappoints. Our most recent stay was in a townhouse, across the road from the main hotel. This was our first experience of this as we had only been in the building proper before. The room we had was called Eagle, and was a loft conversion... But as there is a lift, there is only a short set of stairs to negotiate. 2 double beds and a lovely double shower.... It was cosy and deceptively spacious.The staff were wonderful... as usual, and breakfast is included, although this does require a return to the main building.We sat for an hour or so in the bar after returning from a local restaurant, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. Slouching on the giant leather sofas was pretty welcome after the large meal we had just consumed!!!
